IPTS STUDY: Mapping Major Changes to Education and Training in 2025. Published by The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies, this report presents the findings of a structured and targeted expert consultation exercise which aimed to identify, cluster and rate the main changes in education and training expected to occur over the course of the next 20 years. EFQUEL Innovation Forum. September 8-10, 2010. Lisbon (Portugal). During the forum delegates will participate in workshop discussions to produce recommendations on the following topics: Open Educational Practices, User Generated Content, Self-Evaluation and Learning Organization, Equal access to Higher Education, and Research in E-Learning. EDEN 2010 Research Workshop. October 25-27, 2010. Budapest (Hungary). A platform to present the latest research, theory and practice about assessing the value and impact of e-learning, to exchange ideas about the objectives, methods, tools and results of making assessment more personalised, inspiring experiences in schools and workplaces of the future. ECTEL 2010 - 5th European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning, Sustaining TEL: From innovation to learning and practice. September 28 – October 1, 2010. Barcelona (Spain). The conference will explore how synergy between multiple disciplines, ranging from Computer Science, Education, Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Social Science, can provide new, more effective and especially more sustainable, technology-enhanced learning solutions to learning problems. ELIG's 2010 Annual Meeting: 'Bridging the Gap'. September 13-14, 2010. Cambridge (UK). This Annual Meeting will bring industry members together to debate how best to ensure that leadership, senior management and policy makers understand the full nature of the new learning landscape, in order to allow them to more effectively engage in the transformational effect that this 21st century generation of learning can have on their employees, on their organisations, and on the wider communities and societies in which they operate and which they support. Christian M. Stracke is the new Chair of the European Standardisation Body for e-Learning, CEN TC 353, which named the continuation of the “European Learner Mobility” Standards as the most important objective, the first part of which, adopted a short time ago, aims to harmonise and integrate existing European guidelines and specifications like EQF, Europass, ECTS/ECVET and EQAVET. The second part shall be concerned with the harmonisation and standardisation of learning outcomes and competences. The next plenary meeting will meet on the October 6th, 2010 in Helsinki, after the CEN Workshop “Learning Technologies”. Read more here
