Einführung von Informationstechnologien in den Europäischen Gesundheits- und Sozialsektor

27 Sausis 2003
The main aim of the project is to give groups of disdvantaged people better access to adult education using ITC-oriented learning concepts.
Nine institutions working in the field of education and in the social (or so called third) sector will co-operate in the Project IT'S SOCIAL. The partners come from Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Portugal and the UK and provide services for different groups of disadvantaged people: disabled, women, refugees, socially disadvantaged young adults, unemployed and senior citizens.

A number of training modules will be developed which meet the needs of the target group to take advantage of a life-long learning process. Special emphasis is given to the improvement of social competence and learning on demand.

As an innovation tool for the learning process, a virtual platform will be established including an interactive and co-operative teaching and learning environment. Participants will be able to download tailor-made training modules. Specific e-learning techniques will be developed that use the potential of online distance learning for customising the training modules for the special needs of different disadvantaged groups.

Methodology and didactics will support the development of social competencies for the target group.

Project management will be subject to an innovative approach of internal process control and quality management.

A scientific evaluation will also be conducted.

The results of the project will be documented and published on a project's web-site in 4 to 6 European languages.

Development, Testing, Evaluation and Dissemination of an Innovative e-Business Course aimed at SME needs of e-skills in the future

27 Sausis 2003
The e-Future project will develop, test, evaluate and disseminate an innovative e-Business course to assist SMEs in moving to the forefront of global e-Commerce competition.
The basis for this development is firstly, that European SMEs lack the necessary knowledge to take full advantage of the vast possibilities provided by e-Commerce and secondly, that Europe is therefore lacking as regards global competition within e-Business in general.

The course itself, to be developed in 5 languages (DA, HU, EN, PT & ES) will provide practical tools for SMEs to be able to explore their own future business potential.

Content is expected to focus upon issues such as: consumer demands, sales strategies, new methods and technical solutions, all relating to e-Business and will be output onto a final CD-Rom. Beyond development of the course, initial piloting will take place with SMEs across each of the partner countries with the results being evaluated and influencing the final development of the course.

A dedicated website will also be established to further promote the activities and results of the project and a series of additional dissemination activities is planned involving the circulation of information to all European Information Centres (currently a network of 275 centres) and a planned individual partner approach (HU) to the remaining associated countries.

Materials Engineering Training Tools: On-Line Tutoring, International Recognition & Certification of Corrosion Expertise

27 Sausis 2003
MENTOR-C will develop an electronic, interactive training course in Corrosion Engineering for use by existing employees and those considering future employment within this sector.
The project will consider the 'anywhere anytime learning' concept to enable users to undergo self-learning but will further allow users to consult with a tutor by introducing an 'innovative course administrator / tutor' component to the tool.

The project is a joint effort between ICT and corrosion technology training providers and includes the two European Professional organisations in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection, thus assuring impact of the project results upon the Corrosion Engineering industry.

The course itself is to be multi-level (elementary introductory to highly advanced), multi-lingual (all partner languages) and multi-functional (serving various specialist sub-disciplines of the corrosion or corrosion protection field and useful for various types/levels of qualification outputs i.e. inspectors, installers, engineers).

Beyond development of the course, the partnership will prepare an initial draft proposal for certification and pan-European recognition of the training course developed.

Personal Budget Assistance Helpdesk

27 Sausis 2003
It aims to develop a training package and support methodology able to contribute to the financial and personal autonomy and greater equality of opportunity for disabled persons.
A new financing system is to be introduced in the promoter's country based upon existing systems across the remaining partner countries.

A potential 400 persons will benefit from the receipt of PAB and as a consequence they might themselves employ assistants affording greater autonomy and thus a greater level of personal responsibility. There is however an identified lack of support and/or assistance to those using this service and experience in partner countries shows a real lack of experts and consultants.

The project will develop and organise training across all the partner countries for consultants and for PAB-users (to then serve as role models for future beneficiaries). Piloting of the materials will then take place across selected end-user groups with findings influencing the final result.

Actual outputs therefore include: a new professional profile (Helpdesk Consultant or Advisor); a series of modular training units based upon the needs of PAB-users (these include social law, budget management, personnel administration and knowledge of the disability sector) and a knowledge-information system (to allow PAB-consultants and PAB-users to learn from each other's experience). Results will be produced in CD-Rom format in all working partner languages (NL, EN, DE, FR & SV).

Active dissemination is foreseen through existing partner networks and through a variety of support activities to include hosting of workshops, e-communication groups, a dedicated project website and the release of press material and related project information & publications.

Telecoaching

27 Sausis 2003
The Telecoaching project is to research and develop specialist, training modules to encourage the use of ICT in training and counselling.
Modules are to be developed focussing individually on the technical and pedagogic elements of ICT use in both training & counselling and on SME Business Management.

Following initial comparative research to determine appropriate software & hardware packages able to support the training, the partners will jointly construct the two initial modules (technical and pedagogic). The modules will each be prepared as a combination of print and electronic (web-based) materials and whilst initially prepared in English (EN) will be extended to all partner languages (NL, EL, DE, FI) during the project lifetime.

Initial training activity will take place, using these two modules, to prepare specialist 'coaches', each trained in the use of ICT as a training & counselling medium. Beyond this, partners will work on developing specialist courses in SME Business Management and Business Counselling through the same ICT medium, these will be further piloted with SMEs in each country during the project.

Once developed, all products will be made available via the dedicated project website with paper-based manuals being available to download. It is also expected, that in the future, it will be possible to adapt all modules developed, for use with other, similar target groups.

Architecture and Accessibility - Tools for Training

27 Sausis 2003
The project aims at producing vocational training programmes in accessible architecture in favour of physically disabled people via Internet.
The objective of the AAOutils project is to fill a gap in training programmes for architects, namely accessibility of disabled people to housing or public places.

The project will introduce the innovative concept of accessible architecture in favour of physically disabled persons or persons with reduced mobility by developing vocational training programmes in architecture targeted at architects, architectural students and their teachers.

The training tools will include awareness raising, accessibility standards, practical cases and work experience. Resources will include a manual for the training of instructors (DA, FR, PL), a pedagogic kit (DA, FR, PL) and an Internet site.

The partnership will provide for the creation of national and European networks and includes educational organisations and professional organisations and organisations of the disabled. The partners will contribute via the pooling of information, the validation of results and their dissemination.

Analysis and Development of the Minimum Quality Standards for Practice Firms towards a Common European Certification

24 Sausis 2003
The project aims at identifying the standards for a common European certification for training in Business Administration.
The Quality Standards for PF project will work towards the identification of common minimum standards leading to common European certification for young people undergoing simulated training in Business Administration.

The partnership comprises organisations working in the provision of simulated training, where a simulated business, training environment is provided encompassing the principles of hands-on experience through the use of simulation as a learning methodology. Common standards will be achieved through the collection, evaluation, design, development, testing and integration of existing transnational practice firm procedures, systems and documentation.

Final results will present a mapping of different professional profiles within which individual young people are being trained (using simulation methodology) across the partner countries.

All materials will originally be developed in EN (to include survey materials; quality training standards; curriculum, assessment, verification and monitoring documentation) and will be in printed, electronic (CD-Rom, internet) and video form. Certain of these materials will however be extended across individual partner languages for use with the end user groups.

Dissemination of the results is planned through a range of information and dissemination seminars planned within each partner country to further inform SMEs and other companies with regard to the established standards. Further planned activities include attendance at educational and practice fairs and the release of articles to relevant press and journals.

Social and Sector based e-learning enhanced by Professional ODL networks

22 Sausis 2003
The project will bring together a range of professional bodies from across Europe to form a European network with the aim of encouraging the use of Open and Distance Learning.
S2-NET wants to encourage the use of e-learning in vocational training for ODL professionals in addition to the broader community of practitioners and local policy makers, thus raising awareness of the possibilities offered through e-learning and preventing both old and new forms of social exclusion.

The network will act on four separate levels; to provide stimulation to existing networks and network activities, to provide a permanent structure for social dialogue, to consider the social and equality aspects of e-learning (especially as regards prevention of social exclusion) and to combine forces with regard to permanent dissemination of the results across Europe.

Expected benefits of such collaboration are the establishment of a network of knowledge and guidance centres for ODL across the field of vocational training and a virtual transnational network of practitioners from all across Europe, able to share knowledge & experience and to contribute to finding solutions to current social problems or issues.

The network, in addition to the hosting of both real and virtual European events (seminars, conferences), will produce a series of digital publications (e-issues, CD-Rom) and will further contribute to the dissemination of project achievements through a final closing seminar in which network activities and results will be promoted.

Professional Training European Enterprises Network

20 Sausis 2003
It aims at recognising competencies of SME staff to develop individual employability and potential for workforce mobility and improve the competitiveness of individual enterprises.
The project will initially undergo the exchange of analyses and existing experience across the range of partner organisations with regard to the eventual production of new key criteria, to act as indicators for measuring competencies within the SME workforce.

Beyond their initial definition, key criteria will be distributed across the partnership for testing and validation (with a select group of SMEs) with eventual outcomes being further circulated across the partner countries.

An electronic vademecum will be produced (in EN, FR & DE) within the project website to both promote the recognition & validation of acquired competencies and support appropriate training & development.

The partnership, comprising an established network of multi-player organisations will further endeavour to convince decision-makers at various levels, including Social Partners, to address the issue of a more effective vocational training & skills recognition system for SMEs and their workers.

Dissemination is planned through regional, national and European presentation of the results to SME training bodies and through electronic marketing and linking of individual partner websites.

An Exploration of Data in the EU

20 Sausis 2003
ICT Learning and Training will both investigate policies and ascertain types of information (data) held within EU countries in relation to ICT learning and training.
The project will establish data availability and gather examples of good practice at individual Member State and at EU level as regards: ICT learning/training policies and initiatives, the acquisition of ICT skills, provision for training in ICT, perceived effectiveness of provision, impact upon employability and the extent to which ICT education and training is adequate to ensure the competitiveness of the EU.

Four primary work phases are planned, these are: establishment of an observatory of policies, information and data (to cover a minimum of eight Member States), surveying of selected SMEs, transnational organisations and state-run bodies (to cover key sectors within a minimum of eight Member States), interviews with ICT experts in universities, institutes and companies (across a minimum of four Member States) and development of indicators and proposals for data collection in relation to ICT learning/training and proficiency.

New statistical indicators (addressing ICT use, training, competence, training needs and cost) will be proposed along with possible data collection scenarios. Data contributors will be regularly updated on project activity through the establishment of a dedicated project website to act as a central information tool.

Primary target groups for the results of the project include policy-makers (at regional, national and international level), Social Partners, training providers, trainers, teachers and individual suppliers of ICT.
