Professor of Psychology (Nottingham Trent University, UK )

Jean Underwood, formally Reader in Education at Leicester University, is now Professor of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. She is currently co-editor of Computers & Education. She has worked for last three decades on the identifying the cognitive and social factors that facilitate and inhibit effective learning with and through digital technologies. This research has been partially funded under a number of UK-based national research initiatives and includes investigation into the value of integrated learning systems for numeracy and literacy learning; the impact of broadband connectivity on effective use of technology in schools and homes; and currently the impact of digital technologies on personalised learning. She has conducted similar studies with colleagues across Europe.
