Public profile Bert Hoogveld

Since 1986 at Open University in the Netherlands, as instructional designer & consultant in instructional design. Expert in instructional design of multimedia and in curriculum design, experienced project team manager. Some project results were awarded. Bert’s special expertise lies in supporting teachers in applying innovative techniques and methodologies to design of competency based curricula. His research into teacher’s instructional design skills lead to a thesis and in 2003 he becomes PHD.
Before his period at the Open University in the Netherlands Bert, from 1979-1986, was instructional designer/teacher of instructional design in nurse education, and manager of two audiovisual service centres, one for national agricultural education and one regional centre for seven universities of professional education.
From 1969 to 1980 Bert studied at Groningen State University in the Netherlands, chemistry and instructional sciences (masters degree in instructional design in 1980) and he combined this study with assistant university teachership in research and teacher education.
Bert finalized secondary education at the Maastricht Henric van Veldeke College in 1969 (gymnasium beta).
Bert followed primary education in Bunde and Maastricht and was born in 1949 in Bunde.
