EUROCALL 2013: 2nd Call for Papers
Eurocall 2013 is now accepting submissions for this year's 20th anniversary conference. The deadline for papers is March 4th, 2013. The event, organized by the European Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning, is open to anyone interested in e-learning and languages, will be held in Évora, Portugal, 11-14 September, 2013.

In September 2013, EUROCALL will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Come and join us in Évora and help us celebrate this great occasion! The conference will take place on the Main Building of the University, Colégio do Espírito Santo, and will be hosted by the School of Social Sciences.
LINQ Conference 2013: Deadline for Papers and Projects Approaching
Participants in the 2nd European Conference on "Learning Innovations and Quality" (LINQ 2013) are encouraged to submit their entries as soon as possible, before the March 4th, 2013 deadline. Paper or project templates are available on the LINQ website.
The extended submission period for scientific papers and research project descriptions to be presented at the 2nd European Conference on "Learning Innovations and Quality" (LINQ 2013) will come to an end on March 4th 2013. Submissions of papers related to the conference (max eight pages) must be sent by March 4th, 2013, using the official LINQ template. Submitters will be informed of their acceptance by the 20th of April 2013.
LINQ 2013, which will take place at the Global Headquarters of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy, has already attracted submissions from throughout Europe, as well as Asia, America, and Africa.
The LINQ 2013 call for papers invites all experts and practitioners to contribute through the submission of high-quality papers related to the following topics:

- Quality improvement and learning outcome orientation in LET
- Harmonization of innovations and quality development in LET

Learning languages by talking about nature
This project aims at developing English language skills among students and teachers, break down cultural barriers and stereotypes, and help young people find where they belong in the modern world, with special attention given to educational and job prospects.
We intend to achieve the above-mentioned aims by undertaking a project on the history of the local communities, while putting a strong emphasis on the role the minerals extracted in the area play - the stone "Pińczak" in Pińczów and oil in Ploesti, which have been important in shaping the history of both towns and have had a profound influence on their development and the lives of their inhabitants.
Various aspects in relation to extraction and processing of the natural resources will be examined: economic development of the towns from the earliest years, settlement and migrations determined by the presence of the minerals, trade exchange with the outside world, everyday life, customs, culture and art of the people belonging to the stone or oil trade.
The project is intended to implement joint undertakings in the form of practical and open-air activities, both in Pińczów and Ploiesti. It includes getting to know local natural environment, industrial centres and historical places connected with the local minerals. We will be meeting people whose professional lives (stoneworkers, research centre and university workers) and artistic lives (sculptors) are bound up with stone and oil.
The project is aimed at pupils aged 13-15. Implementation of the project will be based on using modern information technologies: Power Point and Movie Maker presentations, interactive whiteboards, real-time Internet text messaging (chat rooms), blogs and social network services.
Knowledge Maturing in Europe
This study presents a quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collected from a broad range of organisations within the knowledge-intensive service sector for the MATURE Integrating Project. The research delves into the concept of Knowledge Maturing (KM), which is goal-oriented learning on a collective level, within and across organisations. This study is based on a total of 139 interviews conducted throughout Europe, and focuses on different aspects of KM.
END 2013 Submissions Deadline Extended to February 28th
END 2013 - International Conference on Education and New Developments 2013 - is now accepting abstracts on a wide variety of topics until February 28th, 2013. The event will be held in Lisbon from the 1st through the 3rd of June.
END 2013 is currently accepting submissions on a wide assortment of themes pertaining to learning, teaching, and human development, up until the extended deadline of February 28th. The international event seeks to cover not only a vast range of topics, but also showcase diversity of countries and cultures, all in the pursuit of promoting growth in teaching, learning, and general education research methods.
The themes of interest outlined by END 2013 include development and innovation in the following fields: Teachers and Students, Projects and Trends, Teaching and Learning, and Organizational Issues. Encouraged submissions include oral presentations, posters, symposiums, roundtable/debate, workshops, and virtual presentations. Selected contributions will be published in a special collection of papers specific to the conference. Additional opportunities to publish in international journals will also be available.
