Serious Games and Formal and Informal Learning

The experience garnered from the eVITA project is used to explore the relation between Serious Games (SGs) and formal and informal learning.

The eVITA project promotes and investigates pedagogy-driven innovation by defining and evaluating four different pedagogical approaches. In addition, it aims to facilitate knowledge-transfer mechanisms that integrate Game Based Learning with intergenerational learning concepts. Within the project framework, a set of games have been developed which aim to increase European cultural awareness by conveying the cross-border experiences of older Europeans, and the first part of the expert evaluation of the outcomes is presented here.
