Since beginning of 2002 Dr. Richard Straub has the role of Director of Learning Solutions IBM Europe, Middle-East and Africa. The mission of this role is to leverage the breadth of the IBM portfolio and partner offerings to provide leading edge learning solutions to Education Institutions, Governments and Companies.
Before taking this role Mr. Straub had the global responsibility for developing and implementing a learning strategy and oversee the deployment for one of the major global IBM Units with 60.000 employees worldwide. This role of a Learning Officer included the management and alignment of the Group's investment in skills and learning with the IBM business objectives. In addition he oversaw the group’s management development programs.

Mr. Straub is Chairman of the European eLearning Industry Group and founding Chairman of the Career Space Consortium. The eLearning Industry Group is composed of leading e-learning industry players in Europe. Its objective is to accelerate the adoption of e-learning in Europe in cooperation with the European Commission and national Governments.

Mr. Straub is lecturing Organizational Learning, Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Cross-culture management on executive MBA programs and is a keynote speaker on numerous international conferences.
