Biography
Roni Aviram is a philosopher of education whose interests focus on the impact of ICT on education and society, and on formulating macro and micro level strategies for the optimization of the impact of ICT on education in light of Humanistic values. Aviram has published articles on these subjects and several books on the desired future of education and ICT-based education. He is the chair of the Center for Futurism in Education at Ben-Gurion University, whose long term goal is to contribute to the design of desired educational futures by way of critically structuring theoretical as well as practical change processes in education, and in particular those that are driven by incorporation of ICT. Aviram has led pioneering Israeli and European projects focused on the “merger” of ICT and education, the radical change of the school, educational systems and higher education, and the formation of virtual lifelong learning environments enhancing human development and flourishing.
