Rationale and objectives of the event
In order to reach a common European vision of Creativity and Innovation in education and in society, the concerns, vision and contributions of all stakeholder categories must be taken into account, going beyond the classical divisions of government–private sector–civil society and adopting a genuinely open approach where al the voices are heard with the same relevance.
To reach this aim, the Learnovation Roundtable, gathering the main networks active in Europe in the field of innovation and ICT for education and training, is organising a conference specifically aimed at contributing to the European policy cooperation for the following decade.
The Conference will focus on:
The event will be structured in an innovative and open way along the different visions and contributions on all stakeholders’ categories. During the Conference, E&T experts will interact with national and local policy makers in charge of education, EC representatives will listen to he concerns of school teachers directly from their voice, representatives of certification bodies will answer the questions of informal learning practitioners, and so on.
Quoting from the Policy Paper “Europe with students eyes” from the European Students Union: “The stakeholder principle recognises that although all actors within the European learning system work towards the same goal, they do so from radically different perspectives and life experiences. This leads to the conclusion that, besides the social partners, the institutions and students should also be included in the working groups. The limited inclusion of stakeholders creates a problem of ownership.”
The Conference will gather around 100 participants, including representatives of the European Commission, European Parliament, Member States, research networks dealing with education, content industry, university networks, and civil society actors and networks.
