Ruth Martinez is an e-learning consultant and researcher on designing of learning activities on 3D virtual worlds. She has collaborated, like teacher and researcher, with faculty members at IL3-UB (Universitad de Barcelona), Universidad de Salamanca y Universidad de Sevilla in Spain.

Ruth Martinez is co-author of eXprime Second Life, a Spanish reference book about Second Life and its characteristics. She also publishes journal articles and present conferences, and she is the administrator of a Spanish virtual community about learning in Second Life.

Her current research interests focus on designing learning activities to support active learning, emerging technologies and the use of virtual worlds 3D.
