The project aims to implement methodologies of context based problem oriented learning in a virtual setting where contact between the students and companies is through ICT.

The project wishes to address several of the main objectives of the Minerva projects, i.e. to design, develop and test new methods and educational tools, as well as the use of the internet for educational purposes, and the support of dissemination of ODL.

The consortium partners for the project comprise universities in The Netherlands (Maastricht), Denmark (Roskilde) and Norway (Tromsø) as well as the University of Salford (United Kingdom) as the lead partner.

A network has been established comprised of the consortium partners and involving the implementation of a virtual collaboration learning environment, where students will co-operate on a project based, problem oriented approach. In the CLIENT project, communication and co-operation will be solely based on virtual contact between students, companies and tutors.

One of the innovative aspects of the project is the intercultural dimension through which students of different nationalities and with different backgrounds, will cooperate in finding solutions to real-life problems with European companies. An innovative (formative) evaluation method will be implemented to monitor the students throughout the project.
