Ti racconto una fiaba
La più grande raccolta di fiaba in italiano della rete, dalle fiaba classiche a quelle inviate dagli utenti in versione testuale o multimediale. Un supporto educativo per insegnanti e genitori.
Il progetto nasce dalla profonda convinzione che le fiabe siano un elemento importante per la crescita e la formazione dell’individuo. Il recupero della fiaba come strumento educativo per insegnanti e genitori ci ha spinto a raccogliere più di 1.500 fiabe nel contenitore “Ti racconto una fiaba”, raggiungendo numeri impensabili per un progetto completamente gratuito che dimostra come siano sostenibili progetti culturali quando c’è passione (e tecnologia!).
Il progetto propone la fiaba come “contenitore di realtà” (I. Calvino), uno strumento straordinario per narrare il mondo che ci circonda, sfruttando i grandi classici come stimolo per tutti per creare e raccontare il proprio mondo interiore ed esteriore! Ogni lettore può inviare la propria fiaba, sia essa opera di un professionista o frutto della fantasia pura di un bambino. Ogni forma creativa costituisce l’essenza di “Ti racconto una fiaba”.
I'll tell you a story
The world largest collection of fairy tales, a really passionate project which involves a lot of creative people! A teaching resource for learning English and as a parenting bedtime-resource.
The project stems from the deep conviction that fairy tales are an important element for the growth and the education of the person, from an early age.
Fairy tales are great educational tools for teachers and parents that’s why we have collected more than 1,000 stories in "I’ll tell you a story". We have achieved unimaginable results for non-commercial project demonstrating how cultural projects are sustainable when … the passion (and technology!) are in the air!
The fairy tales are vehicles of reality (Italo Calvino), they help us to narrate the story of our lives. The greatest classics are incentives for everyone to create and tell their inner and outer worlds!
On this basis, we have promoted "I'll tell you a story" as a teaching resource for learning English and as a parenting bedtime-resource with great success: more than 50,000 downloads for official Android and iOS applications in less than a month after release and we are ranked in the top 100 in 55 different countries (source: AppAnnie)!
Safer Internet Day (SID) 2013: 'Connect with Respect'
10th Safer Internet Day
The Insafe network is pleased to announce that the theme for the 10th Safer Internet Day will be online rights and responsibilities. The campaign will take place worldwide on Tuesday 5 February 2013. As in previous years, members of the public, schools, NGOs, industry and other stakeholders are all invited to take part.
Continuing on from the success of the 2012 campaign, the Insafe network is working on a second SID kit for schools that will mark this anniversary edition of the campaign. As in previous years, the Insafe network will also release, later this year, a campaign video specific to the 2013 theme along with other resources. In the meantime you can view the SID Generic Video.
About Online Rights and Responsibilities
The Insafe Network is currently preparing the campaign information for SID 2013. We can, however, confirm that the slogan will be 'connect with respect'. As soon as more information is available it will be added to this page.
Want to know how to take part in SID?
You can spread the word by attending or organising an event! You can register for Safer Internet Day by completing the online form. There are three types of registrations available: for schools, for individuals, and for organisations. All registered schools will also receive a digital copy of the SID Kit for schools once it becomes available. Once you've registered Insafe will contact you; if you reside in one of our network countries, this contact will be from your National Awareness Centre.
No national contact point? They why not set up a SID Committee in your country! Contact the SID helpdesk at SID-helpdesk@eun.org to create your own.

Diploma Safe Internet
The Diploma Safe Internet is a free curriculum for students from grade 5 to 8 in elementary education. The aim of the curriculum is to make children aware of their actions on the Internet and their skills to make responsible use of the Internet and digital media. The curriculum has an educational function for children, teachers and parents.
Developing Key Competences at School in Europe: Challenges and Opportunities for Policy
This report reviews national policies for the development of key competences at school in Europe. It acknowledges the progress made so far in implementing the key competences approach and discusses several policy challenges that are directly linked to the contribution of education and training to meeting changing skills demands: tackling low achievement in reading, mathematics and science; increasing the number of mathematics science and technology graduates, and further support for the acquisition of transversal competences such as IT skills, entrepreneurship and civics.
The report covers 31 European countries (EU Member States, Croatia, Iceland, Norway, and Turkey) and takes the reference year 2011/12. Information covers compulsory and secondary general education.
ITC, school, family and children
Edu 21 is a initiative that aims at developing a pedagogical thinking that allows to face today's educational issues.
This conference will the effect that ICT has on children, both in families as in schools. The talk will be held by the famous italian educationist Francesco Tonucci and Miguel Àngel Prats, a teacher and ITC expert.
Technology Enhanced Learning 'Stories'
If you worry that a lot of knowledge about how technology can enhance children’s learning seems to be rather anecdotal, you will probably appreciate this conference. Taking place from 3pm till 8pm in London, this event “showcases research and prototypes that could revolutionise UK education with technology”. During this event, you will be able to:

• Discover how it feels to drill into a virtual tooth
• Interact with artificially intelligent characters on a touch screen
• See algebra in a whole new light
• Experiment with a portable science kit for teenagers

An Open Source Environment to Construct Information Services for Children
Puppy-IR is a consortium of 8 organizations from 4 European Countries. The consortium includes 5 universities, a children hospital, a multi-disciplinary museum and an international information services company; and is coordinated by the University of Twente (The Netherlands).
The consortium represents a unique combination of outstanding researchers who can carry out the work in the project at the required level of excellence, a user group that is competent and eager to absorb the envisaged results, and a partner with an interest in the post-project exploitation of the results. Through the strong commitment to open source development, the project is likely to have a strong impact in the research communities focusing on search technology, as well as on the market in which developers of dedicated services and products operate.
In a world where Internet and technology play such an important role as it does today, it is absolutely necessary that children can assess the meaning of gathered information and can in child-friendly ways get engaged in interaction with content. PuppyIR aims to facilitate the creation of child-centric information access, based on the understanding of the behaviour and needs of children.
To achieve this goal, an open source framework will be created in which advanced functionalities can be developed, and then deployed to create information services that are tailored towards the unique information needs of children and their intuitive style of interaction.
Inspired by article 17 of the convention on the Rights of the Child that grants the child has an explicit right of access to information, this research project aims to create an open source platform that can be used to build child-friendly information services that assist children in the interaction with information, whether it is for fun and entertainment, or for learning and education.
Safer Internet Forum 2012 - Creating together a Better Internet for Children and Young People
The Safer Internet Forum has been organized by the Safer Internet Programme as an annual conference on safer internet issues since 2004. It brings together representatives of industry, law enforcement authorities, child welfare organizations and policy makers. The past editions of the Safer Internet Forum have welcomed guests not only from Europe, but also from countries such as Australia, Brazil or the Russian Federation.
The 2012 edition of the Safer Internet Forum will take place on 18 and 19 October in Brussels under the theme "Creating together a Better Internet for Children and Young People"
The topics of the sessions are indicated in the updated draft agenda.
